VLSAs in Bududa

We are thrilled to share the remarkable progress achieved through Seeds' partnership with the Bududa District Farmers Association (BuDiFa). Since the creation of the VSLA programs in April 2018, we have witnessed a phenomenal growth, with the project expanding from 21 to an impressive 101 groups, in only three phases.

 

The impact of this project is truly transformative, with an approximative 4040 direct beneficiaries receiving support through Seeds and BuDiFa's partnership. Moreover, around 24240 other individuals within the beneficiaries' households are also benefiting from the project.

Considering that a group saves up to 10 000 000 UGX over a cycle, this represents an amount of savings of more than 660 000€ since 2018, with more than 1 115 000€ being borrowed by the savers" with a total project cost of only 9733€.
